ASG Up2date 6.310 released [Middle]

6.310 is the Migration Kit Up2Date.

With help of the migration function you can install ASG V7.005 just by click a button on your Astaro appliance. This Up2Date introduces the V7 migration kit, which is used to upgrade from installations of ASG V6 to V7, converting (most of) the configuration. The migration kit is available for ASG Appliances only.

morro.jpgHowever, migrating to V7 is just an option; we will of course continue to provide pattern and firmware updates for ASG V6. The migration can be started from the System >> Up2Date Service menu in WebAdmin. The upgrade procedure reboots the device two times and takes up to 15 minutes (depending on the ASG model) and is irreversible.

Note further that migrating from V6 to V7 runs into the following limitations while converting the configuration:

  • HA configuration will not be converted.
  • emote Syslog will not be converted.
  • Site-to-site and Remote Access VPN: Only PPTP settings will be converted.
  • Intrusion Protection settings will not be converted.
  • Network and service groups: Groups containing other groups will be expanded.
  • Packetfilter: QoS settings of packetfilter rules will not be converted.
  • DHCP on Eth-VLAN is unsupported in V7.
  • Configured Ethernet aliases that are disabled will not be converted.
  • E-mail address fields in V6 (such as System >> Settings >> Administrator Contact) will not be converted.
  • TTP proxy configuration will not be converted.
  • SMTP proxy configuration will not be converted.
  • Remote user authentication services will not be converted.
  • DHCP relay will not be converted.

Remarks:

  • Required previous version is 6.306
  • Existing configuration will not be changed
  • Middleware will not be restarted
  • Active IP and VPN connections will not be restarted
