Up2date 7.512 Released

Following the release of an Up2Date for our Version 8 line, we also have a release for Astaro Security Gateway Version 7 which is designed to address a connectivity issue with SwissCom DSL that was introduced due to changes by that ISP. We'll also take this chance to address some published vulnerabilites for SSL and fix a few bugs. Keep in mind that ASG V7 is due to sunset at the end of this year in December 2012 and will be end-of-life at that time.

Up2Date 8.302 Released

Today we released Up2Date 8.302 of Astaro Security Gateway. This release is soley for the purpose of addressing an issue our Swisscom DSL Customers reported due to changes implemented by this ISP. As a result, a small version bump will occur, in that the larger release we had intended to be 8.302 will now be released as 8.303 later this month which contains many fixes and updates for ASG V8. You can read on for the details of the Up2Date package.

We are proud to announce that we have been positioned in the “Leaders” quadrant of Gartner, Inc’s 2012 Magic Quadrant for Unified Threat Management. The quadrant is based on an assessment of a company’s ability to execute and completeness of vision.

According to the report, “The Leaders quadrant contains vendors at the forefront of making and selling UTM products that are built for midsize business requirements. The requirements necessary for leadership include a wide range of models to cover midsize business use cases, support for multiple features, and a management and reporting capability that's designed for ease of use. Sophos UTM 9 Public Beta Begins

The next major version of Astaro Security Gateway will be known as Sophos UTM 9. You are invited to participate in our just-released public Beta of this version to test and provide feedback which we will use to shape and polish the product as we move towards GA. The public Beta for UTM 9 is scheduled to run until late June, in preparation for a release that is targeted for July 15th.

SC Top Rating for Astaro Security Gateway

SC Magazine tested Astaro Security Gateway recently and awarded the highest score of 5 stars in each sub category. Of course we are very proud of this result. But read the tester's results by yourself: “The Astaro Security Gateway is a flexible, full gateway security appliance that can be deployed and configured to fit almost any environment. This product is available as a full hardware appliance, software installation or virtual appliance. Up2Date 8.301 Released

Today we have made available Version 8.301 of Astaro Security Gateway. This is a maintenance release only which addresses various reported issues and will contribute to the stability of your ASG installation. While this Up2Date will be made automatically available for installation, you can read on for more details and manual download links.

This release contains a number of fixes around VPN, Web Security, and wireless.

Astaro Security Gateway V8.300 Released

I am pleased to announce that we have released ASG 8.300 via our Up2Date distribution network. The main features of this release are Amazon Machine Images of Astaro Security Gateway (along with Astaro Command Center), an integrated connector for the Amazon Private Cloud (VPC), ASG Site-to-Site VPN Tunnels using our RED protocol, support for our Wireless AP50 product, and BGP4 routing support. In addition, we have added numerous tweaks, dozens of stability improvements and increased the performance of many features. This release will solidify your ASG V8 installation and give you the best Astaro experience yet.
